❝ Once upon a time... a mother lay bleeding as a pack of monstrous beasts devoured her while a child cried in the background. . .a young girl sits on a bale of rotting hay in the abandoned barn her family had chosen for their home for however many months. her greyish blue eyes carry a haunting sadness as she stands as a stark contrast to the wilderness of the pack that raised her, albeit for their own dark purposes.over the years she had become a reluctant accomplice to their gruesome lifestyle, using her natural charm and empathy to lure unsuspecting victims to the abandoned places they often called home.while harper wants to protect the people of the towns they pass through, her primary motivation is survival. starvation and isolation are used as forms of punishment when the young girl disobeys the pack.they made her fish for her first victim at the age of nine, after the disappearanceof noah. a kind man who owned a small store in the town they had been staying in, he had always slipped her a few free candy bars whenever she frequented his store. the horror of witnessing the aftermath left her traumatized and more compliant to the packs wants.

a few years later, after the disappearance of noah, the previous lure for the travers, harper formed a fragile friendship with a young girl, sarah, from a new town. as the friendship grows the pack target emily's new friend and she goes missing. to harper, sarah represented a genuine connection and a hope that she could be redeemed for the horrible things she has done.

at the age of nine harper lured her first victim to the pack. the shop keeper was specifically selected by the pack due to harpers's fondness for the man. she begged them to choose anyone else but abe saw this as defiance and locked her in the cellar until she became more agreeable to their plan. the shop keeper went with harper willingly and guilt took its first bite out of her. paula made her watch as they rest of the pack tore him apart. ripping flesh overpowering her screams. a warning that she would be on the menu if she didn't serve up suitable meals for her not so loving family.

at the age of twelve she had become numb to what transpired between her, the pack and the victims she lured in. reluctantly she began to get closer with a local girl named sarah, who didn't seem to take the hint that harper would rather be left alone. as their friendship developed harper became more confident in sharing small parts of her life with sarah. the girls made plans to run away together. it wasn't until the day they planned to leave that sarah went missing and harper recieved one of the worst punishments of her life. the scars from which she will bare forever.

just shy of her sixteenth birthday, harper got caught stealing the wallet of leo van helsing, another werewolf, and the pair formed an unlikely friendship. over time harper opened up about her life with the travers. during this time she discovered noah was still alive and part of leo's pack and the pair of them took steps to remove harper from her situation. leo acting as a father figure for both her and noah.
